In August 2007 Ron addressed a joint session of school transportation workers representing several school districts in the north Texas area. His subject was "The Transportation Worker's Role as a Frontline Soldier in Values Education."

To introduce the importance of personal values in the work process, Ron described one incident from his experience directing a wilderness camp program for troubled youth. The incident involved a teenager named Beto. Ron relates how one business manager concluded that his employees acted a lot like Beto.
